ThE Lonely Man Stockings Project
Year 1 - To support The Lonely Man Project, Leanne started a family project to support Lonely Men in our community. Stockings were delivered to a community agency in the city for distribution on Christmas morning, to let people know they are being thought about - that they matter.
Year 2 - due to growing demand and growing support -the project grew and stockings supported men & women in our community, to brighten their spirits on Christmas morning.
Year 3 - the momentum continues to grow as the impact of Covid continued to wreak havoc with people and their mental health. Stockings were delievered to men and women at two community agencies to spread some hope and love.
Year 4 - as awareness of the project grew, so did the support. We received generous support from Breton Solutions, Knights of Columbus (St. Paul's) and Margaret Warren which, along with amazing support from our community allowed us to grow the project. This year we were able to deliver stockings to identified individuals in our communities who could use some support and a message of love.
Year 5! We are currently collecting donations for the coming Christmas season!
